Teeth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a popular procedure used to make teeth whiter and brighter, and therefore more attractive. Bleaching can be used to whiten stained and discolored teeth, or simply to enhance a dull smile. Either way, tooth whitening is a safe and relatively painless procedure ideal for most patients. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate fillings, crowns and other restorations that may need to be replaced. The replacements of these restorations will be done after the whitening is complete to ensure the new restorations match your new shade.
With the tray whitening, we will first take impressions of your teeth to fabricate customized clear trays that you will wear to whiten your teeth. These will be given to you to take home along with prescription strength whitening gel to use in the trays. The process takes approximately 7-14 days of everyday use depending on the level of whitening you plan on achieving. You may experience some temporary sensitivity of the teeth during and after the process. A touch up on the whitening may be necessary every once in a while, especially if you smoke and drink coffee, tea or red wine.
